Location

This course is being held in an outdoor park setting in NW Portland. Our time will be spent on wide, unpaved trails and in some tall, grassy areas. We will cover up to about one mile of distance in each session; this will include a brief, moderate grade. Note: there are no restroom facilities at this location.

The entrance includes about 1/4 mile  on a narrow, unpaved road with some substantial potholes. You will need to plan your transportation accordingly. There is a small, unmonitored parking lot at the base of the drive; do not leave any valuables in your car. The specific location will be sent to you with your registration confirmation.

Other Details

With the exception of extreme weather, this course will be held rain and/or shine and we will be outdoors the entire time. Much of the time we will be under a tree canopy. The temperatures in the area where we will be gathering tends to be a few degrees cooler than most of Portland. While we will be walking during portions, our pace will generally be slow to still. You are encouraged to dress in layers and accordingly. More on that below.

What to Bring: We suggest you bring a water bottle and carry any belongings in a backpack or other hands-free tote or bag. You may also choose to bring a walking stick or hiking poles.

Attire: Please wear shoes suitable for trails, grassy areas and rain. We also suggest dressing in layers, bringing gloves or mittens and having a rain jacket with a hood on hand (or jacket plus hat.)

Masks: Please also bring a mask. Although we will be outside the entire time, with room for distancing, there may be times when you will be asked to wear a mask.

Tea: Bring your own mug or thermos and come a bit early for tea!

If you have any questions please feel free to email Ashley.
