Appreciative Seeing
“A hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life depend on the labors of {others}, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving.” – Albert Einstein
Einstein’s words reminds me of what I’ve come to understand as appreciative seeing – actively holding life’s interconnected nature in awareness as a way to see more clearly. Appreciative seeing involves looking further than one’s own efforts, intentions and talents to appreciate the good fortunes and blessings in our lives WHILE understanding that we touch the inner and outer lives of others through our contributions, big and small.
One way to practice appreciative seeing is through a simple breath practice – as you inhale, acknowledge someone or something that has benefitted you. With exhalations bring attention to a gift you offer. I invite you to enjoy this 6-minute guided Appreciative Seeing with Breath Practice.
Learn about how coaching, or mindfulness mentoring, may help you or your business engage in more appreciative seeing here. Additional guided breath practices can be found on my YouTube channel.
